Here is my attempt at doing a picture!
Using the program "Paint!"
In order to draw a picture in paint, you must follow the steps provided below:
1. Click on the start button
2. On the new menu click on All Programs
3. On the new menu scroll up and click on Accessories
4. On the new menu scroll over and down to Paint
5. Once paint is highlighted click it
6. Use any of the tools located on the left hand side of the screen to create a picture/painting
7. Once your have finished your painting, go to file and click
8. Scroll down and click on save as
9. Create a file name for your painting and click OK
Your file has now been saved as a .bmp! The file sized is normally pretty small. For example; my picture had the dimensions of 962x681, and was 1.87 Mb! I saved it in my picture folder, therefore when I went to my documents my picture was there. When I double clicked it, it automatically opened in Paint. However, when I went to upload the picture here on blogger I had to go back into my file and save it again as a .JEG, in order for it to upload!!

I chose paint because I thought it would be fun to play around and see if I could actually try and draw the Pittsburgh Penguins mascot. It was rather challenging. I would say that if I were an art teacher and needed to incorporate some technology within the classroom I would definitely consider paint. Other than that, I really don’t see too much interest in paint, it is hard to control the paint brush and the least little movements ruin everything and you have to undo it and try again. It sometimes becomes very tedious. I have also thought about using paint in the classroom for student to type a story and then draw a picture to illustrate their story. I am not so sure it would work very well, but Paint does include a text box option.
Hope I did this right! Fingers crossed! :)
This would be a wonderful aspect for students to create an image in Paint to go along with a story they may have written in Word. Being able to do this would accomodate the CSO of:
21C.S.PK-2.2 The student will demonstrate the ability to explore and develop new ideas, to intentionally apply sound reasoning processes and to frame, analyze and solve complex problems using appropriate technology tools.
